“MIAN” is part of the kitchen theatre design concept for Melco Studio City Beverly Hill Arcade Renovation. The idea is evoking the vibrancy of local noodle bar culture. It is full of busting, childhood memories,neighbour social and eclectic. The strategy driving our planning and overall retail design philosophy is based around the several key principles. We have provided restaurant operators with a stage to build incredible destinations by showcasing the best food and product in a environment that is designed to facilitate a free flowing, organic relationship between retailers and common areas. This results in fluid circulation and optimal footfall irrigation by providing a more walkable environment along with great views and sight lines. 
 

We have envisioned an ecosystem of operator ‘residencies’. From the Village where we our carts, booths and island kiosks are located, to the more established retail units around the perimeter where our, key tenancy units and anchors are located. We have designed the overall environment to include elements of surprise within an organic planning framework. We encourage retails to take advantage of this in their designs. We have provided seating zones for customers to use to eat and socialise. These zones are strategically positioned to support, in particular, our kiosk operators in the village and to encourage repeat custom, whilst enhancing the atmosphere and creating a food festival feel.
 

Our loose-set planning is designed to encourage customers to engage with product, by dissolving the threshold between the walkways and the retailers. We encourage retail operators to take advantage of this characteristic by placing product and communication in optimal locations .in order to support this approach and optimise sales.
